Working with a teammate, we were given the task to create a Webquest lesson plan that would be given to a 9th grade art classroom in Johnstown, PA. Using a website builder Wix, we created an assignment for the students to think about their artmaking in a new way through the frame of synesthesia, where senses are mixed. They interacted with the environment around them and transformed their senses into 2D drawings and 3D sculptures using Tinkercad.

     

     This choice-driven lesson plan placed emphasis on the student’s exploration and artmaking process. After students submitted their work to Google Classroom, we were able to grade their work and it was satisfying to witness how this lesson plan worked with the students. I see myself using this mode of delivering lessons in the future because the students were able to independently navigate the project at their own pace.
